Pinch & Pour collects three things: your email address, your voice recordings, and your recipe content.
Your email address is collected when you register and is used only for authentication and transactional messages like password resets. We process your email and account data to perform the service contract we have with you — without it, we cannot maintain your account (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
When you press Record during recipe capture, your voice narration is recorded and sent for transcription. We process your audio recording based on your consent, which you give by pressing Record. You can withdraw that consent at any time by simply not using the recording feature — and withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of any processing that already took place (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a), Art. 7(3)).
The structured recipe text produced from that narration — and any edits you make afterward — is stored in your account. Recipe content is processed to perform the service contract with you (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
We also collect limited operational data to understand how the app is being used: session duration, device type (e.g. "Chrome on Android"), approximate location by region (derived from your IP address), and feature interactions such as when you record a recipe or install the app. This data is tied to your account and used only for product improvement. It is never sold or used for advertising. We do not collect payment information.
Your audio is sent to OpenAI's Whisper API solely to transcribe what you said. Once transcription is complete, Pinch & Pour does not retain the raw audio recording. Your email address and recipe content are stored in your account and used only to deliver the service to you. We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not share it with any party for any purpose beyond operating the app.
Recipe content and account data are retained until you delete your account. Audio recordings are not retained after transcription is complete — they are discarded at that point, not stored. After you delete your account, any remaining backup copies are purged within 30 days.
We work with a small number of third-party services that process your data to make the app function:
No other third parties receive your data.
Noark Investments, LLC is based in the United States. Our processors (OpenAI, Anthropic, Supabase, Vercel, and Resend) may process your data in the United States. If you are located in the EU or EEA, these transfers are conducted under Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent transfer mechanisms that meet the requirements of applicable data protection law.
When you press Record, your voice narration is sent to OpenAI's Whisper API for transcription. This is how the app works. Pinch & Pour does not store your raw audio recordings after transcription is complete. Your voice is not used to train AI models — ours or anyone else's.
Supabase sets a session cookie when you log in to keep you authenticated. This cookie is required for the app to function — without it, we cannot identify your account. We do not use advertising cookies. We do not use cross-site tracking of any kind.
All of your recipes and account data are accessible to you at any time within the app. If you want to leave, you can delete your account and all associated data permanently through Account Settings. Deletion cannot be undone.
